eSeed: His Brother Was Worse

HIS BROTHER WAS WORSE
Read Ephesians 2:1-10

A man died, and his widow hoped that someone would stand up and say a good word about him at the funeral.

Nobody wanted to, but a preacher finally agreed. He said, “Well, his brother was worse.”

But salvation doesn’t depend on whether someone is better or worse than you. It’s not a reward for the good you have
done.

Morality can’t merit it. Baptism can’t buy it. Philosophy can’t produce it. Education can’t earn it. Science can’t secure it. The government can’t guarantee it. The church can’t confer it. But you may have it.

Salvation is the free gift of God. Receive it, won’t you?

Prayer: We yield ourselves to Thee, Father, all there is of us. Cleanse us from all our sin. Consecrate us to Thyself. Fill us with Thy Spirit. Make us faithful and fruitful Christians: through Christ. Amen.
