eSeed: Prayer - Farce Or Force

PRAYER – FARCE OR FORCE
Read James 5:16

A little girl said, “Mom, I’m not going to pray any more.”

“Why not?” she asked.

“I didn’t say my prayers for three nights,” the girl said, “and nothing happened.”

Does prayer work?

It does! Moses prayed, and the waters of the Red Sea parted to make a dry highway for the children of God. Joshua prayed, and the walls of Jericho fell down flat. Elijah prayed, and he locked and unlocked the rain doors of heaven. Hezekiah prayed, and the Lord lengthened his life by fifteen years. Paul and Silas prayed, and the prison doors opened.

The Bible says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Prayer: Save us, Father, from Biblelessness and prayerlessness. Inspire us to pray where we worship and where we work, in our rest and in our recreation: in Christ’s name. Amen.
