eSeed: Ungodlike Not To Work

UNGODLIKE NOT TO WORK
Read John 5:17

A lazy farmhand fell off a tractor and was rushed to the hospital.

After an examination the doctor said, “Here’s some good news and some bad news. You won’t be able to work for six months.”

“Thanks,” said the man. “Now, what’s the bad news?”

But work isn’t bad for us. It’s good. The daily grind of work gives us polish!

God isn’t a lazy God, but a laboring God. The Bible opens with God working, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

He’s still working. Our Lord said, “My Father is always at work, and I am working.”

It’s ungodlike not to work if you can work.

Prayer: Make me, Father, diligent in my work, fair in my games, and clean in my pleasure. Grant that my work will bring glory to Thee and good to those I work for: in Christ’s name. Amen.
