I WAS TALKING TO GOD

A little boy was saying his bedtime prayers in a very low voice.
“I can’t hear you,” whispered his mother.
“I wasn’t talking to you,” answered the boy, “I was talking to God.”
Prayer should be addressed to God, for Jesus said, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father.’”
Because of our heavenly Father’s love, He wants what is best for us. Because of His wisdom, He knows what’s best for us. Because of His power, He does what’s best for us.
What His love dictates, and His wisdom approves, His power can supply.
How good it is to know that we can leave our prayers with God who knows how to give, what to give and when to give.
Prayer: Grant, Oh God, that these minutes which we spend with Thee may send us forth more loyal to Thee, more kind to others, and more honest with ourselves: through Christ. Amen.
