eSeed: The Grumbler

THE GRUMBLER
Read 1 John 4:7-10 TLB

A wife wondered, “Doc, what’s wrong with my husband? He’s so irritable.”

“Maybe,” he replied, “it’s strong coffee that makes him ill-humored.”

“But, Doc,” she protested, “you should see how irritable he gets when I serve him weak coffee.”

You and I get irritable not because of something on the outside, but something on the inside. And it’s the soul, not the stomach.

When the Lord’s absent, love’s absent. And life without love is a bird without song, a night without day, a tree without root.

The Living Bible says, “If a person isn’t loving and kind, it shows that he doesn’t know God – for God is love.”

Prayer: Help me, Father, to be patient and kind, never envious or boastful, never selfish or rude. Save me from being irritable or touchy, deliver me from holding grudges, and give me Thy love for my fellow man: in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
