eSeed: I Know My Father

I KNOW MY FATHER
Read 1 John 2:1-5 NIV

A boy said to his buddies, “Come on! Let’s play ball in the street.”

“I can’t,” said one.

“Why can’t you?”

“My father won’t let me. There’s a lot of traffic. It’s too dangerous.”

“Ask him. He might change his mind.”

“No use,” he said. “I know my father.”

What was the proof of knowing his father? His observation of him? Oh, no. His obedience to him.

In the same way, should you say you know God, the proof isn’t in your language, it’s in your life.

The Bible says, “We can be sure that we know Him if we obey His commands.”

Do you really and truly know God?

Prayer: Inspire us, Father, to come close to Thee; closer than we have ever been before; and keep us from straying and stumbling. Let nothing come between our souls and our Savior: in His name. Amen.
