A boss thundered, “You’re late!”
“I had car trouble,” said the secretary.
“What’s wrong with your car?” he asked.
“I was late getting into it,” she answered.
So many miss happiness here and heaven hereafter because they’re late getting into it.
It matters not how good your intentions or how godly your resolutions, if they’re fixed for tomorrow.
If you swim in the sea of self-satisfaction, and nibble at the bait of presumption, and swallow the hook of procrastination, you will end up in the net of failure.
The Bible says, “Do not put off turning to the Lord.”
Come now, won’t you?
Prayer: Father, we hear Thy voice calling and constraining us to come to Thee. We come now just as we are, claiming Thy cleansing and control: through Christ. Amen.
