It was a pleasant summer evening, and the young man had been parked on the girl’s front porch for hours. Finally she asked, “Would you like to take a walk?”
“I’d love to,” he answered.
“Well,” she replied with a yawn, “don’t let me stop you.”
Like that young man, we have many church members who are sitting on the premises instead of standing on the promises; they’re waiting for an impression when they ought to be walking as an expression; they’re hoping to be fed when they ought to be hopping to be sped.
So step on it. Stay in step with the Savior, and sidestep sin. Step steadily, straightly and strongly!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, make us holy in our worship, honest in our work, and happy in our walk. Save us from a faint heart, a lazy spirit, a weak will, and a careless walk. Grant us the power to faithfully do Thy will: through Christ. Amen.
