eSeed: Men Wanted

Read Matthew 16:24 TLB

When Ernest Shackleton made a trip to the South Pole, he advertised, “Men wanted for a hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger. Safe return doubtful.”

“It seemed,” said Shackleton, “as though all the men of Great Britain determined to accompany us.”

Another Leader said, “Follow Me.” He advertised, “If anyone wants to be a follower of Mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.”

He doesn’t offer a couch, but a cross; not pleasure, but persecution, not glamor here, but glory hereafter.

Dare you follow our Lord?

Prayer: Dear Jesus, be Thou our Savior and Sovereign. We place ourselves at Thy disposal. Strengthen us and sustain us with Thy counsel and companionship: in Thy name. Amen.
