Read 1 Peter 5:6 TLB
A monk was asked the nature of his order.
“Well,” he said, “when it comes to learning, we don’t compare with the Jesuits. When it comes to good works, we’re not a match for the Franciscans. And when it comes to preaching, we’re below the Dominicans. But when it comes to humility, we’re the tops.”
There is a man who is proud of his humility.
It would be easier to orbit the moon on a firecracker than to achieve success without prayer and preparation, to find fulfillment without godliness and graciousness, or build character without honesty and humility.
St. Peter says, “If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in His good time He will lift you up.”
Prayer: Father, grant that our daily life may be animated and aglow with the spirit of our Lord who walked in humility and holiness. Constrain us to humble ourselves: in Thy name. Amen.
