eSeed: Not Of Self

Read Ephesians 2:8-10

“Help!” cried a man who was trapped in an elevator between floors.

“Keep cool,” cried the manager, “keep cool! We’ll have you out in no time. I’ve called for the elevator mechanic.”

“I AM the elevator mechanic,” confessed the trapped man.

Self-sufficiency may be good for some things, but not for all things. Take, for example, a drowning man. He can’t save himself by grabbing himself by the hair and lifting up.

Self-reliance is a virtue. But Savior-reliance is vital for salvation. The Bible says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Call His name, won’t you?

Prayer: Father, we thank Thee for Thy Son, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Help us who have called upon His name for salvation to bring honor to His name: in His name. Amen.
