eSeed: Hurrah

HURRAH
Read Luke 23:39-43
The word “hurrah” was first used as a battle cry.

Some people believed that if a man died fighting for his country, he went to Paradise. So they shouted “Hurrah!” It meant, in the Solvanic tongue, “To Paradise.”

But it’s not fighting for a purpose that saves. It’s faith in a Person – Jesus.

Christ was crucified with two criminals. One said, “So You’re the Messiah, are You? Prove it by saving Yourself – and us.

But the other prayed, “Jesus, remember Me when You come into Your kingdom.” “Today,” replied Jesus, “you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Will you be with Him?

Prayer: Keep us, heavenly Father, from drifting or straying. Bind our hearts to Thine, and keep us close to Thy side, infilling our hearts with love for Thee and Thy word. Inspire us to love Thee more and serve Thee better: through Christ, our Savior. Amen.
