eSeed: Mr. Know-It-All

MR. KNOW-IT-ALL
Read Acts 16:31

A young fellow decided he didn’t need to take skydiving lessons. So he chartered a plane and they took off.

When it came time, he jumped. He enjoyed his free fall, and then he pulled the cord. But his parachute didn’t open. Then he realized he didn’t know how to operate the reserve parachute.

As he fell lower, he saw a man rising higher. He yelled, “Do you know anything about parachutes?”

“No,” said the man. “Do you now anything about gas furnaces?”

The Philippian jailer wasn’t a know-it-all. He wanted to be saved and know it. He asked, “What must I do to be saved?”

St. Paul answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

Prayer: Father, cleanse us from all our sins, and keep us clean. Help us to grow in compassion and courage, making us people of purity and prayer: in Christ. Amen.
