eSeed: No Funds

Read Psalm 66:17-19 TLB

A young lady complained, “Dad, the bank that you recommended is in a mess.”

“How’s that?” he asked.

“It returned my check today for $100 marked ‘No Funds.’”

No, the trouble wasn’t with the bank, but with the one doing the banking.

In like manner, oftentimes we pray for funds, but the Lord doesn’t grant them. We say He has a lack of supplies. But He says we have a lot of sin.

Sometimes we pray for strength for our work and our warfare. But we’re as weak as a wet macaroni. We say He’s strengthless, but He says we’re sinful.

Sin short-circuits prayer. The Living Bible says, “I cried to Him for help. He would not have listened if I had not confessed my sins. But He listened!”

Prayer: Cleanse us, Father, so that there will be no sin between our soul and our Savior. Fill us with Thy Holy Spirit: through Christ. Amen.
