eSeed: Pulling A Rope

Read Job 5:2 TLB

A convicted cowboy was asked by a visitor to the prison, “Why are you here?”

“For pulling a rope,” he said.

“Why would they arrest you for that?” she asked.

“Maybe,” he said, “because a horse was at the other end of it.”

We’re prone to excuse evil and minimize sin, aren’t we?

We call sin an accident, but God calls it an abomination. We call it a trifle, but God calls it a tragedy. We call it a weakness, but God calls it willfulness.

Sin always starts out as delightful, but then it deceives, then defiles, and destroys.

The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death.” Why don’t you quit before payday?

Prayer: Father, we penitently confess our sins and pray for Thy cleansing. Teach us to discern Thy will more clearly and to live more closely to Thee: through Christ. Amen.
