Read 1 Corinthians 10:17 TLB
He was a poor boy, and when he graduated from high school he didn’t expect a gift. Yet he received one he never forgot.
While others got clothes and cars, he got a quarter. “Buy a newspaper,” said his father, “and read it. Then turn to the classified section and get a job.”
He got a job, and became famous. “A greater gift,” he said, “I couldn’t have received.”
A job is your best friend. It supplies your needs and supports your family. It develops your body and disciplines your mind.
Base men despise it. But believers delight in it, doing everything for the glory of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to do each task well, so that there will be no loose ends, no things half-done or undone in my life. Make me a better Christian. I ask that everything that I do may be to Thy glory: through Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
