The Man Who Made It

Read Ephesians 2:10 TLB

Years ago a company in Wilmington, Delaware made an expensive machine for a plantation in South America. It was shipped to the buyer and Mr. Satterthwaite was sent to put in together.

When the man and the machine arrived the purchasers were upset. They called saying, “You sent just a boy to set the machine up!”

“But that ‘boy’,” they said, “is the man who built it. He operates it here, and he can operate it there.”

The God who made you, knows you. Since He overcame Satan in His life, He can overcome him in your life – if you’ll turn it over to Him.

The Living Bible says, “It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Jesus Christ.”

Trust Him, won’t you?

Prayer: Deliver us, Father, from Satan and sin. Give us an earnest desire to follow Thee closely and to discharge faithfully the duties Thou hast given us to do: in the name of Jesus. Amen.

eSeed: The Only Way

Read John 14:6

One year Mrs. Guido and I were invited to South America to minister to the missionaries and the nationals.

There were no roads to some of the villages. One day we came to a mountain pass and asked an Indian, “Is this the best way to the pueblo?”

“It’s the only way,” he answered.

And there’s only one way to heaven. The Lord Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

He’s the only way. Without Him there’s no going. He’s the truth. Without Him there’s no knowing. He’s the life. Without Him there’s no growing.

Let Him take you by the hand just now. He’ll guide you and guard you to glory!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, come Thou into our hearts. Possess us completely. Live Thy life all over again in us, that others will see Thee in all that we say and do: in Thy name. Amen.

eSeed: The Weight Of Wrongs

Read Ephesians 4:32

Legend tells of a man who majored on misery. Every time someone was unkind to him he would pick up a stone, put it in a sack, and carry the stone filled sack on his back. Soon the burden broke his heart and his health.

It’s healthier to remove a grudge than to retain it, and you’ll be much happier.

Forgiveness turns adversaries into allies, barriers into bridges, remorse into radiance, and it bears the imprint of the Son of God.

The Bible says, “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.”

Be kind to others, won’t you?

Prayer: Fill my heart with Thy love, Father. Take away my meanness, and give me Thy kindness. Deliver me from impatience, and give me Thy patience. Save me from pride, and give me Thy humility. Love others through me: in Christ’s name. Amen.

eSeed: Victor Or Victim

Read James 4:7

In the War of 1812, an American general, William Winder, in spite of having a four-to-one advantage over the British, was defeated and taken prisoner.

“Free him,” said the British officer. “His incompetence makes him an ideal opponent.”

Later, when the British attacked our nation’s capitol and burned much of it, Winder was in charge.

Anything in your life that’s not consecrated to the Lord is claimed by the devil. He delights in having you in charge of the Lord’s work. He knows he will win the battle.

Just now submit your all to the Lord, and resist the Devil. Then he’ll run from you, not over you.
Prayer: We submit ourselves to Thee, Father. In all our thinking and doing may Thy word instruct us, Thy love motivate us, Thy strength sustain us and Thy spirit guide us: through Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

eSeed: The Unfailing God

Read Matthew 19:26

A speaker said, “I have some good news and some bad news. Here’s the good news: ‘He’s got the whole world in His hands.’”

“What’s the bad news?” asked a listener.

“When you hear, ‘Oops! I dropped it!’” he answered.

But our God, who has the whole world in His hands, is all-wise and all-powerful. He’ll never drop anything or anyone.

His power will never diminish and His pity will never decline. He never did, nor can He do any wrong. Greatness and goodness in their perfection meet in Him.

Trust Him. After all, He has promised to be your Savior, Satisfier, and Strength.

Prayer: Father, help us to trust in Thee, whose wisdom is infallible, whose strength is invincible, and whose love is illimitable. Guide us each day to believe in Thy power in our lives: through Christ. Amen.

eSeed: The Six Million Dollar Stumble

Read Psalm 119:133

It was one small misstep for a technician, but it was a big setback for our space program.

The workman tripped on the tail of his lab coat, stumbled and cracked the exhaust nozzle of a space rocket as he fell against it.

The cost to fix this small misstep? Six million dollars.

It was one misstep for King David. He was feasting at home when he should have been fighting at the front. He tripped over Bathsheba and committed adultery.

The cost? Three sons and his kingdom.

Let’s pray with the Psalmist, Lord, “Order my steps in Thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”

Prayer: We long, Father, for a more satisfying sense of Thy presence and power which will make us equal to all of our problems and perplexities, all of our tasks and troubles. Hear us, we pray: in the name of Jesus. Amen.

eSeed: The Enemy Within

Read 2 Chronicles 7:14
During the Spanish Civil War, as the rebel general got ready to attack, he was asked, “Which column will be first to enter Madrid?”

“The fifth,” he answered. “There’s a band of rebel sympathizers already in the city.”

What no enemy has been able to do to America from the outside, the fifth column of immorality is about to do from the inside.

Unless spiritual security goes hand in hand with material security, our nation will pass into obscurity.

It’s only as we seek the Lord and pray, and turn from our sins, that we’ll save our country. I will. Will you?

Prayer: Make us, Father, good Christians that we may be good citizens. Inspire us with a faith that is strong that we may preserve the freedoms our forefathers fought to win. Help our leaders to turn away from sin and lead our country victoriously: through Christ. Amen.

Please pass this on! And if these Seeds have ministered to you, email us and let us know, please.

eSeed: The Assurance

Read 1 John 5:14 NIV

A father took his son to a cafĂ© for dinner. Handing the boy the menu, he asked, “What do you want, son?”

“Pop,” he answered, “I want what you want.”

That’s the secret for answered prayer.

Here’s the permit. Prayer isn’t an intrusion on our part. It’s an invitation on God’s part. He says, “Ask and it will be given you.”

Here’s the limit. “Ask anything according to His will.” And how can we know His will? By combing the Scriptures and communing with the Savior.

Here’s the summit. The Bible says, “We have this assurance in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

Prayer: Inspire us, Father, to pray at all times and about everything, that we may receive strength for weakness, wisdom for folly, and help in hazards. Bestow Thy blessings upon us as we seek to lead others to Thee: through Christ our Lord. Amen.

eSeed: Sell Him a Boat!

Read Revelation 21:4

A real estate salesman said to his boss, “A customer is mad. He claims that his lot is under water.”

“Then,” he said, “sell him a boat!”

What about the accommodations? The Master-Builder said, “I go to prepare a place for you.”

And the air fare? It’s prepaid, for “we shall be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.”

Any need for shots? No, for there shall be no more death, or sorrow, or pain.

Is it attractive? Indeed. Gold paves its streets, jasper adorns its walls and they’re garnished with precious stones.

Care to make a reservation? The Bible says, “Now is the accepted time.”

Prayer: Accept our thanks, Lord Jesus, for Thy gracious invitation to heaven. We now come in for salvation to go out for service, come in for transformation to go out to be transformers: for Thy name’s sake. Amen.

eSeed: The Best Crop

Read Ephesians 6:1-4

It was graduation time in the Ozarks. A farmer and his wife traveled to the distant campus for the commencement exercises.

They were ashamed of their clothing, but they were proud of their son who spoke with ease and eloquence during the graduation exercises, for he was brilliant.

When the son’s talk ended, the father hugged his wife as he said, “Maw, the boy is the best crop we ever grew.”

Your best crop as parents is to grow good and godly children. Ones who’ll put God above glory, love above lust, morality above money, principle above popularity, and self-control above self-indulgence.

Prayer: Help me to be, Father, all that I should be as a member of my family. Grant that today I may not grieve a loved one, disappoint a friend, disgrace Thy name, or shame myself: through Christ. Amen.
