eSeed: P.L.O.M.

P. L. O. M.
Read Psalm 101:4 TLB

There was a girl who was a chronic complainer. Even when opportunity knocked, she grumbled about the noise.

One day her mother had heard enough of her complaints and said to her, “You’ve got a bad case of P. L. O. M. disease. That means Poor Little Ole Me.”

Self-pity! It doesn’t help, it hinders. It doesn’t lift, it lowers. It doesn’t purify, it poisons.

Self-pity will parch your attitudes, paralyze your abilities, and put off your achievements. It prohibits excellence and prevents expansion.

Let’s say with the Psalmist, “I will reject all selfishness and stay away from every evil.”

Prayer: Save us, Father, from selfishness and self-pity. Make our hearts tender and sympathetic like Thine. Constrain us to help others and thus to honor Thee. Inspire us to live as Christians should. Hear us we pray: in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
