QUIT EVIL DEEDS

Two boys called on a new neighbor, and a dog came running out to greet them. “Don’t be afraid,” said one, “he’s wagging his tail.”
“But he’s growling, too,” said the other. “Which end do we believe?”
So it is with drink. Some say it’s harmless, and others say it’s harmful. Which do we believe?
We should ask ourselves what does the Bible say? More is said in the Bible against the sins of drink and drunkenness than against the sins of adultery and stealing.
The Bible says, “Quit the evil deeds of darkness…Be decent and true in everything you do so that all can approve your behavior. Don’t spend your time in wild parties and getting drunk.”
Prayer: Father, let us see our sins and their sinfulness, and inspire us to look at our Lord and His loveliness. Incline our hearts to fall in love with Him all over again. Lift our affections to things above: through Christ. Amen.
