THE LITTLE LEAGUERS

A baseball coach called in a cantankerous little leaguer and said, “Robbie, we don’t believe in temper tantrums, cursing the umpire, and being a poor loser. Do you understand?”
“Yes, sir,” replied the boy.
“Then,” said the coach, “tell your mother.”
The reason some parents don’t lead their children in the right direction is because they’re not going that way themselves.
Children need a pattern as well as a provider, food for their souls as well as food for their bodies, preparation for heaven in addition to preparation for earth.
Happy is the father who can say with Joshua, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Prayer: Father, give us the blessings of insight and inspiration, that we may live in harmony and happiness in our homes. Make us patterns for our children. Give us Thy love as we strive to serve Thee: in Christ. Amen.
