Little Leslie looked out the window at a large snow bank that blocked the sidewalk to the front door. He decided to do something about it. Bundling up in his warmest clothes, he got a snow shovel, went outside and began to remove the snow.
His neighbor was walking by and said to him, “How can such a small child like you expect to remove so much snow?”
Looking the man in the eye he said, “My Dad said that if I don’t give up and keep at something, I can always get through it!”
The committed person is not the one who sees through something. The committed person is the one who sees something through!
Paul said that Christians are to “stay true to the Lord.” This is often difficult to do unless we remind ourselves continually to keep our eyes on Jesus and never forget that this world is not our home.
George Whitfield constantly prayed, “Lord keep a thorn in my nest so I won’t get too comfortable and forget that I am here on this earth to work for You every day of my life.”
Prayer: Lord, may everything about us show those around us that we are faithful and true to You, our Savior. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Scripture for Today: Philippians 4:1 Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.

Don't Stop Now!
Sometime ago it was my privilege to be the commencement speaker at a high school graduation. At the end of the service, the students came forward and walked up to the headmaster to receive their diplomas. As he shook their hands, he looked into their eyes and said softly to each one of them, “Don’t stop now, keep moving forward!”
Great advice - not only for the graduates but for everyone, every day. Whatever we do, wherever we go, we must keep moving forward. We must keep forgiving! Keep growing! Keep helping! Keep loving! Keep witnessing! Keep serving! Keep worshipping! Keep working! Keep laughing! Keep moving forward!
If this is important for life in general, it is even more important for the life of a Christian. Paul said that “I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.”
What great advice he offers us. Nothing should ever interfere with nor take our eyes off of knowing Christ. We must focus on Him the same way athletes focus on winning a race because nothing else matters.
Prayer: Help us, Heavenly Father, to keep moving forward as we strive to grow into Your likeness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
Scripture: Philippians 3:8-14

The Loafin' Laborer
Read Proverbs 12:24 TLB
A banker persuaded an old farmer to give his son a job for the summer. A week later the banker stopped by the farm and he asked, “How’s my son doing?”
“If he had one more hand,” said the farmer, “he’d need a third pocket to put it in.”
“An idle brain,” say the Germans, “is the devil’s workshop.” “An idle man,” say the Arabians, “is the devil’s playfellow.” And the Italians say, “By doing nothing we learn to do evil.”
The Living Bible says, “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and never succeed.”
You can sit, soak and sour; or you can start, strive and soar. Which will you do?
Prayer: Keep us, heavenly Father, from disappointing our families, from dishonoring Thee, and from disgracing ourselves. Give us Thy wisdom for our minds and Thy skill for our hands and inspire us to work hard for Thee: through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
